Jesus has given you authority, as a disciples of Jesus, over all the works of the enemy (satan) and nothing shall harm you. (Luke 10:19) I’m constantly challenged by the question – “Am I using this authority?”
Whilst in Germany over Christmastime, I noticed that my grandson Jowan had horrible verrucas on his foot. My daughter Coralie had treated them many times, but they always returned. She said, “I know they need more treatment, I must get some stuff and do it.”
“I’d like to pray for him,” I said, and after explaining to Jowan how I was going to pray – I did just that. I cursed the roots of the veruccas and I commanded them to wither and die, and ‘in the name of Jesus’ to be removed from his body. I then told him that they would go and for him to keep looking at his feet.
To be honest, by the time I got back to England and all the busyness of life, I completely forgot this incident. Just a month later, in one of our frequent phone calls, Coralie told me there are now no signs of the veruccas on Jowans’s feet – they are completely clear! Praise God!
We all were encouraged. Let me encourage you to start using your authority over small things – but expect that authority and faith to grow.
